Chilly early evening ride.

I went for an early evening ride on my Suzuki SV650S, it was chilly but it didn't matter.

Tennis balls.

Four boxes, ninety-six cans, two hundred and eighty-eight tennis balls. Can it get any better? 492.25 well spent.

Parting of the clouds, deuxième partie.

Another gorgeous parting of the clouds prior to sunset. I imagine that we get such gorgeous skies, clouds and light here on the west coast, due to the onshore winds that bring fresh air and clouds formed over the Pacific Ocean. Perhaps there is less pollution and the air is more clear, resulting in this natural splendor.

A misty forest in low light, shot in black and white with my Fujifilm X20.

A really interesting second growth forest only two minutes away, three when it is a foggy day.

A parting of clouds.

There wasn't a glorious sunset tonight, but there was a late afternoon parting of clouds that created some extrordinary light.

Shape, colour and texture of driftwood.

The shape, colour and texture of the wood speaks for itself. I used my magnificent Fujifilm X20 to capture the details using the Velvia and Black and White film modes.

The recent weather was such that frost gathered in all kinds of places, creating may different abstract photo opportunites.

Images from today's photo excursion.

Look for the light, shadow, texture, colour, tone, extraordinary, uniqueness, shape, abstract, meaningful and create a composition. Then make an image you want to share with others, because you recorded something special.

More anti-selfie bikies from recent rides.

I'm sure this collective self obsession with selfies (especially with young people) is leading to something wrong, perverting peoples egos and ids and sense of self. So to be in purposeful opposition to the stupid, daft, badly exposed - in more ways than one - selfie, I am creating bikies. Images of my Apollo Speed 10 vintage bicycle at various community sites of interest - and further afield as I develop leg strength. Screw the selfie and let's look outward visually, not inward.

Fujifilm X20 camera.

I recently bought two new Fujifilm X20 cameras, mainly for their portable size and film quality output. I have set one to permanent black and white and the other to various colour modes. The images made by these little point and shoot cameras is outstanding. They struggle in some functions, but the film quality result is worth the work. I love this camera model, and the X30 is even better, but I needed two so got the X20. They fit in my pocket, hang without any weight around my neck, and shoot FILM QUALITY, I'LL SAY IT AGAIN FILM QUALITY. Fujifilm has certianly been able to migrate their film attributes to their digital cameras. The only thing I am adjusting in post production is contrast. But at this time of year I am shooting landscapes in low flat light, so would do this with any camera image. Fujifilm X20
