I recently purchased a new Nikon Nikkor 50mm f1.8 prime lens. With it's low light gathering ability, and shallow depth of field range, it will become my main lens for portraiture.

FOG BANK, ARCTIC OWLS AND BIG LENSES

The Arctic Owls are still causing quite a stir in Delta. I saw vehicles from Washington State in the parking area, and as a chilly fog bank rolled in, I thought it was worth taking a picture of some enthusiasts with big, expensive lenses.

NIKON D200

My Nikon D200 body is nearing 200,000 shutter actuations. I bought it used two years ago for about $500.00 with 25,000 actuations. I'm told that the D200 frequently goes well beyond 200,000 clicks. Brilliant. Just don't push the ISO past 400.

NIKON F100

I recently purchased a virtually new Nikon F100 for less than $200.00.....brilliant price.....brilliant camera. I then bought for it, an almost new Nikon 28mm f2.8 lens. I've loaded the magnesium alloy body with a roll of Ilford XP2 and can't wait to see the negs once developed. I caught myself looking at the camera back after shooting the first few frames, and wonder how many frames or rolls of film it will take until I stop that digital habit.
I designed my new website with a 35mm film section, where I will upload select singles on an ongoing basis. I'm getting back to basics.

NEW WEBSITE FOR 2012

I just finished designing and building my new website, with many previously unpublished images. Although I coded it on a laptop, I designed it around BIG images, which are best viewed on a 24" or larger desktop monitor - so you don't have to scroll vertically. Images are so BIG......you may have to lean back in your chair! The whole site is "Flash Free" (© 2005), and designed in basic html. Depending on your browser and connection, each image gallery may take about 30 seconds to load completely, be patient and when it finishes loading, scroll right to view images.
I created a wedding gallery for the first time as I want to increase the number of weddings I shoot each year. The gallery is password protected in order to offer privacy to clients. If you want to hire me for a wedding shoot, email me for a login profile.
